PentAGI
Getting started

Quick start

Install PentAGI with the interactive installer — system requirements, download, a guided setup of providers and search engines, and the first sign-in.

System requirements

  • Docker Engine 20 or later with Docker Compose; on Podman, install manually
  • 2 vCPU and 4 GB RAM at minimum
  • 25 GB of free disk space
  • Internet access for images and updates

Download the installer

The installer is a terminal UI that checks your system, configures providers and search engines, hardens the setup and deploys the stack.

PlatformArchive
Linux amd64installer-latest.zip
Linux arm64installer-latest.zip
Windows amd64installer-latest.zip
macOS Intelinstaller-latest.zip
macOS Apple siliconinstaller-latest.zip

The macOS builds are signed and notarized. If macOS still blocks the installer, do not override the warning: download the archive for your CPU again from the links above.

Watch it first

A terminal recording of the installer at work is on asciinema.

Run it

mkdir -p ~/pentagi && cd ~/pentagi
uname -sm | sed -e 's,Linux ,linux/,' -e 's,Darwin ,darwin/,' -e s/x86_64/amd64/ -e s/aarch64/arm64/ | xargs -I PLATFORM curl -fLo installer.zip https://pentagi.com/downloads/PLATFORM/installer-latest.zip
unzip -o installer.zip
sudo ./installer

The installer talks to the Docker API through /var/run/docker.sock, so it needs root or a user in the docker group:

sudo usermod -aG docker $USER
newgrp docker
docker ps

Membership in the docker group is root-equivalent. Grant it only to trusted users; for production, run the installer with sudo or use rootless Docker.

The installer walks through:

System checks — Docker, network connectivity and requirements.

Environment setup — a .env file with sensible defaults.

LLM providers — OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Bedrock, Ollama, DeepSeek, GLM, Kimi, Qwen, MiniMax, Mistral, xAI or a custom endpoint.

Search engines — DuckDuckGo, Google, Tavily, Firecrawl, Traversaal, Perplexity, Sploitus, SearXNG.

Security hardening — generated credentials and SSL certificates.

Deployment — starts the stack with Docker Compose.

Open https://localhost:8443 and sign in with the default account [email protected] / admin, then change the password.

The web UI and the other services are bound to localhost, but each flow's sandbox publishes two callback ports, from 28000–29999 by default, on every interface of the Docker host, and ufw does not filter them. On a host others can reach, restrict that range first — see Network exposure. Then continue with your first flow; to update the installation later, follow Upgrading.
